A Regency rosewood and brass inlaid writing slope
A fine quality Regency period rosewood and brass inlaid large writing slope. Decoratively inlaid with brass lines and roundels to the front and top, with a vacant cartouche on the top with inset flush campaign brass handles. Inside, two lift up writing boards with a high quality black gilt and blind embossed skiver, a pair of glass and brass topped inkwells and three secret drawers with very hard-to-find trigger for the panel!
The underside of the bottom writing boards still bears the original makers label in gilt "Dieu et mon droit" & "Honi soit qui mal y pense" found on Britain's Royal coat of arms. A wonderful piece.
