A fine late Georgian rosewood bi-fold writing slope with secret drawers

A large and impressive late Georgian rosewood and brass bound bi-fold writing slope. Vacant brass engraving plate with brass corners, patent lock stamped WR (William IV 1830-37) , with working lock and key and inset brass campaign style handles each side. The lid opens to reveal eight "days of the week" small pockets, and an opening stationery compartment, all original and in stunning condition. Also on view is a lift out pen tray, a lidded compartment and a pair of matching silver plated inkwells. Open the next section to reveal matching burgundy skiver on the writing boards. which lifts to another compartment and a secret panel, behind which are three secret drawers.
